Moore Michael

9/20/2004

Over at the Kerry Spoton NRO they're talking about polls, almost all of which look good for Bush. Not bad, right? But The Magnificent Mr. M reassures Democrats that they have nothing to fear because. . .

"likely' means those who have consistently voted in the past few elections. So that cuts out young people who are voting for the first time and a ton of non-voters who are definitely going to vote in THIS election. Second, they are not polling people who use their cell phone as their primary phone. Again, that means they are not talking to young people. Finally, most of the polls are weighted with too many Republicans, as pollster John Zogby revealed last week. You are being snookered if you believe any of these polls."

Right, let's break it down

'Likely' means those who have consistently voted in the past few elections. So that cuts out young people who are voting for the first time and a ton of non-voters who are definitely going to vote in THIS election.'

No, it means exactly what it says, "Likely voters" People who have voted before and will most likely vote again. Young people as a whole are not "Likely Voters" young people do not sway elections, they do not, as a rule, vote. They drink, and they might be a little pissed that they have to wait until the polls close before getting drunk, especially so close to Thanksgiving Vacation.

Non-Voters, are non-voters, they don't vote either, they piss and moan about work, and how long the line is to vote, and about the fact that they don't like either canidate, or, my favorite, "My vote just cancels out my wife's." Fearless prediction, just as many people vote in this election that voted in the last one, except in St Louis, where the polls will close on time. Anyway, Michael, people who identify themselves as non-voters, don't vote.

Second, they are not polling people who use their cell phone as their primary phone. Again, that means they are not talking to young people.

Riiiiight, ok, sure. So the east coast and the west coast go for Gore, I mean Kerry. Can you TELL this guy lives in New York? Anyway, again with the young people. I have firsthand knowledge of two young people who use their cell as their primary phone and own a home. Actually, they're not that young any more and while they would probably vote for Kerry, at least one would, they live in an urban center that was going for Kerry anyway, on top of that, if they registered to vote, there's the chance that they could get called for Jury Duty. Who the Hell wants that?

Finally, most of the polls are weighted with too many Republicans, as pollster John Zogby revealed last week. You are being snookered if you believe any of these polls

One poll, guy. A poll even Dick Morris didn't believe. Of course, there's always this one, and this one. But they don't mean anything either.

I want to make it clear, if you've made it this far, that I don't know who will win this election. I have hopes, and suspicions, but I don't know. I do know though that Michael Moore thinks you are an asshole. He thinks he can just spout shit and you'll eat it up because he's on TV. He's a liar, and thinks you are just enough of an idiot to think every ounce of the golden shower rolling down your back is just remnants of Hurricane Ivan. And Ivan wouldn't be a problem if we had ratified Kyoto. And Kyoto wouldn't be an issue if we all didn't drive SUV's. And we would all be able to afford SUV's if GM hadn't closed down all those plants in the late 80's early 90's. and. . .. and. . .

Bullshit

you are a damn idiot. I dont care what mm has to say or doesnt have to say but at least he has facts and #'s and outside references to back up his points of view unlike yours. you have ideas and suspicions about this election and its outcome? wow thats amazing join the 200 other million americans with an idea of who will win too. and your reference to a hurricane and a golden shower? quite classless, get a real job writing reputable articles for a real media source.

For someone who doesn't care what MM says you sure got your panties in a twist when I contradicted him. As for Moore having any facts on his side, here's a primer. Oh and here's part 2. And as for me getting a job with a real media source, do you know anyone at CBS I could talk to?
